The Three-Step WMA Initiative

To support Europe’s transition towards 100% Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA), EAPA launched a structured Three-Step WMA Initiative bringing together knowledge sharing, practical guidance and industry collaboration.

1. Publications (2024)

The initiative began with two free publications covering WMA definitions, technologies, benefits and implementation guidance for both industry and road administrations.

2. Webinar (2025)

A dedicated webinar followed in 2025, sharing national experiences and practical insights to help accelerate WMA adoption across Europe.

3. WMA Workshop (2026)

The final step will take place during the WMA Workshop on 10–11 June 2026 in Vienna, where participants will work together to help define a common European roadmap for WMA implementation.

The workshop will be held back-to-back with the E&E Event 2026 (11–12 June), organised by EAPA together with Eurobitume, allowing participants to attend both events in the same venue.

With growing interest across Europe, WMA is expected to play a central role in supporting sustainability, decarbonisation, performance and improved health and safety across the sector.
