Road Maintenance Matters -Live-streamed from Brussels!
Road Maintenance Matters will mark International Road Maintenance Day (IRMD) with a live online session on 9 April 2026, bringing together expert speakers to raise awareness and discuss key issues affecting road maintenance across Europe.
Organised by the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA) in collaboration with the European Road Maintenance Forum (ERMF), the event highlights the important role of proper road maintenance in reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting more sustainable transport systems.
With the EU aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2050, the road sector has a crucial role to play. Properly maintained roads can reduce fuel consumption and cut CO₂ emissions by up to 5%, while also improving travel conditions and supporting circular economy practices.
Speakers, journalists and a small number of invited guests will gather at the EAPA office in Brussels, while participants from around the world will be able to join the session online.
Participation is free of charge (registration required).
