Dear asphalt friends,
In this Newsletter we would like to provide
you with the latest information of EAPA and the asphalt industry.

On 6 June 2019 the 11th EAPA Symposium will be held in Paris with a dinner in the evening before. Under the heading “The future of the asphalt industry” EAPA will inform the participants about the latest news of the asphalt sector concerning current and future topics. The Symposium provides an excellent opportunity for networking, information exchange and discussions; it will be held at La Maison des Travaux Publics, 3 rue de Berri, 75008 Paris, France, close to the Champs Elysées.
The target audience of the EAPA Symposium is EAPA members, members of EAPA members, asphalt & bitumen industry, road administration and academia.

13.45 Session 4 “Communication Session – Strengthen the communication on asphalt’s advantages”

  • In this session, drawn upon their experience, the participants of the symposium will develop together communication outputs that are accessible and meaningful for all actors in the asphalt sector. Structured by the facilitator, participants will work in groups to design a number of communications tools that can be used to address different priority audiences via different channels (social media, events, media outreach, audio visual etc.) more effectively.
  • EAPA Secretary General Carsten Karcher will give a short introduction.

Registration, Symposium fee and Symposium Dinner
The registration fee for the Symposium is 290 Euro including taxes, the entrance to Symposium and Exhibition area, 2 coffee breaks, lunch on the Symposium day and all Symposium documents.
On the evening before the Symposium, on 5 June 2019, a networking and celebration dinner for Egbert Beuving will be held at La Maison des Travaux Publics, 3 Rue de Berri, 75008 Paris, France starting at 19:00 hours. Spouses and colleagues are welcome. The cost for the dinner, beverages and taxes is 89 Euro per person.

Partnership on the built environment and construction

Representatives of the European construction sector have come together to call for a Co-programmed European Partnership on the Built Environment and Construction under Horizon Europe, the next EU research framework programme.

Launching the communication, the President of the European Council for Construction Research, Development and Innovation (ECCREDI), Sue Arundale said “The whole industry needs and wants to accelerate the digital transformation of the business, which will be critical to resolving the main societal challenges of Europe. This is why we need to build on the success of the current public private partnership under Horizon 2020 and we are pushing for a much-needed change of focus, like the one outlined in the paper”.

EAPA is a co-signatory to the communication from the European Council for Construction Research, Development and Innovation.

E&E Congress 2020

The Technical Programme Committee on behalf of the Foundation Eurasphalt, the organiser of the Eurasphalt & Eurobitume Congress 2020, is currently seeking volunteers for Paper Review Committee (PRC). If you would be interested in supporting the the PRC of the next congress by reviewing 3 to 4 papers this autumn please indicate this by registering as a reviewer on https://papers.eecongress2020.org/review-candidate-registration.
