Road Maintenance Matters 2026

On 9 April 2026, EAPA hosted the third edition of Road Maintenance Matters as part of International Road Maintenance Day 2026.

Held live from the EAPA office in Brussels and streamed online to participants across Europe and beyond, the event brought together experts, road authorities and industry representatives to discuss the importance of road maintenance in supporting sustainability, safety and efficient transport networks.

The discussions explored topics including emissions reduction, road performance, asset management, cycling infrastructure and the role of maintenance in achieving wider European climate and mobility goals.

The event featured contributions from speakers representing organisations including CEDR, Routes de France, ASEFMA and the European Cyclists’ Federation.

Following the live event, the full recording was made publicly available to continue the conversation around the future of Europe’s road network.
